Restaurant Review : Mambo Italia Lavington

Nairobi Pizza Fest

Situated right in the heart of Lavington you find a little bit of Italy.

Mambo Italia is an Italian restaurant that offers you a warm dining experience prefect for any time of day. The Restaurant has an open style dining arrangement with warm wooden tables and chairs that can easily accommodate large or small groups. Their menu comprises of  fresh pasta dishes, pizzas and rich desserts. Perfect for sharing and for families there’s a  kiddies menu as well.

Having dined at Mambo Italia before, I always opted for their pasta dishes then went straight for dessert. With the ongoing Nairobi Pizza Festival it was the perfect time to try out their pizzas. Thin crust is how I like my pizza and thin crust is how Mambo Italia serves it.

#PizzaFest16

With the #PizzaFest16 offer you can simply order a pizza from their menu and pick which one you want to get free. As a typical Kenyan I scrolled through the menu to look for a meaty pizza and settled with the bacon pizza topped with smashed minty peas, mozzarella, bacon, kalamata olives and caramelised onions. For the free pizza Roasted Beetroot and Feta topped with fresh orange slices. I’ve got to be honest I do love roasted beetroot with feta cheese, so they had me at roasted.

Dining Experience

The thing I really loved about Mambo Italia’s Pizza is how light and fresh they were, after eating them I didn’t feel like I just ate a whole loaf of highly processed bread. Plus It left me with some good room for dessert. Best of all the waiting staff were friendly, accommodating and prompt with the service which made it an even better dining experience.

So all in all I give Mambo Italia a thumbs up for bringing us a taste of Italy and would recommend you to dine with them at any of their branches.  Lavington, Garden City Mall or Galleria Shopping Mall.

Plus don’t miss out on more great Pizza Festival offers in participating restaurants. Check out EatOutKenya for details and get yourself some pizza!
